CRASH LANDING
Is a popular central Texas based working band, known for performing a good mix of classic
rock covers, blues standards, and original songs to enthusiastic audiences throughout the
lonestar state.The group was formed in 1985 by brothers Rick "Chainsaw" Turnpaugh on
guitar & vocals, with Rob Turnpaugh playing bass. After working clubs a few years as a three
piece, they recruited the Talents of Rick "Talkbox" Vail as guitarist & vocalist, along with "Big
Whipper" Kirby Sodek on Drums, and Donald "DOC" Shuffield playing percussion and taking
the role of lead vocalist.
This award winning line-up has been a local favorite in the clubs, has performed and opened
shows for several big name performers, Crash Landing carries complete sound & light
systems.
